Tunnels
DMC has always been involved in tunnel projects. DMC is one of the few companies to have had hands-on experience with steel tunnels in the United States as wel as concrete tunnels in Europe.
DMC was involved in the development of the bored tunnel in The Netherlands from the start.Besides the design of immersed tunnels, DMC also has comprehensive experience with the design of cut and cover tunnels. The cut and cover technique is for instance used for road and rail tunnels but also for underground car parks.
For DMC, the only way to design is with construction in mind so that the constructibility of our tunnel designs is optimised. Tunnel-building has interfaces between, for example, temporary and permanent structures, between different stages of building, such as civil engineering and submersion, and between the civil structures and the mechanical and electrical installations.
DMC has extensive experience in the design of the following structures:
- Cut and cover tunnels
- Immersed tunnels
- Bored tunnels
- Underground car park
Tunnels Project
Bored Hubertus tunnel, Holland
The Hubertus tunnel will become an important part of the Noordelijke Randweg of the municipality of The Hague. The tunnel begins at the location of the ecoduct over the Landscheidingsweg and comes out into the Hubertus tunnel. The bored tunnel consists of two tunnel tubes.
