Xbloc® placement in IJmuiden

Amid great interest 10 EcoXblocs have been placed on the southern breakwater of IJmuiden.
Deltares and Dutch Ministry of Public Works, together with SHELL, BAM Civiel, DMC, IMARES, Cfix and Heijmans are involved at this test area of 'The Rich Dike' project. Different armour units of different materials and textures will be monitored during three years to evaluate their ecological value. The flat surfaces of Xbloc have been roughened with use of NOEplast. Some of the legs are equipped with different textures.
