First independent import terminal for oil products in Jakarta, Indonesia opened

April 12 of 2010 marked the official opening of Vopak Terminal Jakarta, the first independent storage terminal for oil and related products in Jakarta, see Vopak’s press release (link to http://www.vopak.com/press/137_1901.php) for details.
The terminal was officially opened by the Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, H.E. Ir. M. Hatta Rajasa and officially opened for operation by John Paul Broeders, CEO of Royal Vopak in the Netherlands, and Haryanto Adikoesomo, President Director of PT AKR Corporindo Tbk in Indonesia, Vopak’s Indonesian partner, in the prescence of over 100 invited guests inclusive of DMC Singapore staff involved in the project.
DMC has been involved in the project since its inception in 2005 advising Vopak on options available for the jetty construction. From 2007 DMC prepared the detailed design and supported the preparation of the Invitation to Bid documents for the project and evaluated the received tenders for compliance. During the construction DMC gave continuous support, answering contractor’s questions and being involved in interface discussions between civil and M&E contractors.
