Exercise in the Sluiskil Tunnel
On Friday 24 April, less than a month before the official opening, a large-scale disaster exercise was held in the Sluiskil Tunnel.
To obtain the permit for the opening, the emergency services had to demonstrate that they could take adequate measures in case of an incident. The exercise demonstrated that all the new procedures and arrangements also worked in practice. The tunnel’s technical facilities functioned quite satisfactorily. This means the official opening of the Sluiskil Tunnel could go ahead as planned on 19 May.
You can see a film and photos of the closing disaster exercise in the Sluiskil Tunnel at the HV-Zeeland website.
